Processing on your device
Names, the day you met and your moments
The names, the date you met and your moments with title, note, date and place are stored in the app on your device.
Photos and videos
You pick photos and videos yourself in the iOS picker. Herzzeit only gets access to the selected items, not to your whole library. Herzzeit reads the capture date and location from photos to suggest them for the moment.
Places and map
To turn a capture location into a place name (or to show a typed place on the map), Herzzeit uses Apple's map service. The coordinates or the place name are sent to Apple for this. The map view is also provided by Apple. Apple's privacy policy applies.
Recap film and cards
The film and the share cards are created entirely on the device. They are only passed on when you send or save them yourself using the share sheet.
Reminders
Reminders of anniversaries and moments are local notifications scheduled by Herzzeit on your device. No data is sent to the developer.
Face ID / Touch ID
If you turn on the app lock, iOS checks your face or fingerprint. Herzzeit never receives biometric data, only whether the check succeeded.
Widget
For the widget, Herzzeit keeps the names, the day you met and a small cover photo in a protected area on your device that only the app and its widget can access.
iCloud and shared album
If you are signed in to iCloud, Herzzeit stores your data with Apple's CloudKit in your private iCloud database so it is available on all your devices. When you invite your partner, you share this area with the invited person only; they can then see, add and change moments. You can stop sharing at any time. Storage and transfer are handled by Apple as part of your iCloud accounts. The developer of Herzzeit has no access to it. Apple's privacy policy applies: apple.com/legal/privacy.
Purchases
The full version is purchased entirely through Apple's App Store. Herzzeit receives no payment or personal data, only whether the full version is unlocked.
Your rights
As the developer does not collect any personal data, no data about you is held by the developer. You can change or delete your data in the app at any time; deleting the app and its iCloud data (iPhone Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Storage) removes it completely. For privacy questions, contact me at the email address above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
