Processing on your device

Camera

Scanlett uses the camera only while you scan a document. Images are enhanced on the device and saved as PDF. They never leave your device.

Photos and files

When you import photos or files, you pick them yourself in the iOS picker. Scanlett only gets access to the selected items, not to your whole library.

Text recognition

Text recognition (OCR) uses Apple’s Vision framework entirely on the device. Recognized text is stored only as an invisible text layer inside the respective PDF.

Face ID / Touch ID

If you turn on the app lock, iOS checks your face or fingerprint. Scanlett never receives any biometric data – only whether the check succeeded.

Settings

Your settings (e.g. quality, filing rules, number of free documents used) are stored locally on the device only.

iCloud Drive

If iCloud Drive is enabled, Scanlett saves your PDFs to your personal iCloud Drive or to a folder you choose. Syncing is handled by Apple as part of your iCloud account; the developer of Scanlett has no access. Apple’s privacy policy applies: apple.com/legal/privacy.

Purchases

The full-version purchase is handled entirely by Apple’s App Store. Scanlett receives no payment or personal data – only whether the full version is unlocked.

Your rights

Because Scanlett collects no personal data, the developer holds no data about you. For any privacy question, contact me at the email address above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
